What's the web without pretty pictures? It's estimated that image files take up 65% of an average website, and the wrong size and quality can make your load times plummet. Join us as George Stephanis discusses what happens after you upload an image to WordPress, and the options available to make sure it loads as lean as possible. We will cover Photon, a resource that helps serve the most efficient version of your image, as well as lossy versus lossless, how different image formats are handled (.jpg, .png, .gif, .pdf etc), resizing, and the current Retina requirements. This MeetUp is a must for anyone using WordPress as a portfolio or who has a graphics heavy WordPress site.
